Ponos

Privacy Policy

Effective October 20, 2026

In Short

Who I Am

I'm Elias Nehmé, and I make Ponos on my own in Sweden. I'm responsible for this policy and for any personal data it covers. You can reach me at support@ponosapp.dev.

What Stays on Your Phone

Everything you enter: workouts, routines, programs, custom exercises, bodyweight, notes and settings. It's stored in the app on your iPhone and included in your iPhone's own device backups, as other apps' data is. Nothing of it is sent to me. Rest timer alerts are scheduled on your phone too; Ponos uses no push service.

What Leaves Your Phone

Backups You Make

Backups to iCloud, automatic or manual, are saved in the Ponos folder of your own iCloud Drive and governed by Apple's privacy policy. Files you export go wherever you choose to send them. I have no access to either.

Purchases

Apple processes every purchase. I never receive your name, payment details or Apple ID, only Apple's sales reports, which don't identify you.

App Updates

When Ponos opens, it asks Expo (650 Industries, Inc., USA), the service that delivers its updates, whether a newer version is ready. The request carries a random install ID, the app version and platform, and, like any internet request, your IP address. Expo uses it only to deliver updates, doesn't sell it, keeps it only as long as needed, and transfers it to the US under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (its privacy policy). The legal basis is legitimate interest in keeping the app working; you can object by emailing me.

Analytics You Share With Developers

If you turn on Share With App Developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple gives me aggregated usage and crash statistics.

If You Email Me

If you write to support, I keep your address and message to answer and help you, and delete them when you ask. That's the only personal data I hold.

Your Rights

If you've emailed me, you can ask to see, correct or delete what I have. Everything else is yours alone: to remove it, delete the app, and delete the Ponos folder in iCloud Drive if you used iCloud backups. If you have a concern, email me, or complain to the Swedish data protection authority, IMY.

The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children, and no data is ever sold or used for ads.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
